About
the Red Lion
Situated in the rural, picturesque village of Milfield, The Red Lion Inn is a classic stone building dating back to the mid 1700’s.
Originally frequented by the Sheep Drovers of the northern counties and became a major resting point for the Mail Stage Coach carrying passengers and mail between Edinburgh and London.
We’re located on the edge of Northumberland National Park, with the Cheviot Hills in walking distance; making us the perfect place to visit before exploring the area.
Traditional DINING
Diners can be assured of wholesome home cooked food, freshly prepared using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Come and visit us and try our menu.
Ales, Wines & More
There is plenty of choice of beverage to accompany your meal. We’ve a range of ales, an extensive wine selection, as well as low and zero alcohol options for the driver.
ACCOMMODATION
We have six guest bedrooms, with shower en-suite, available on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Suitably furnished, our rooms are cleaned daily and offer a relaxing break.

Home to the Village Leek Club and host to other groups like the Borders Gliding Club who operate from the Air Field, used as a training base for pilots during World War II, The Red Lion offers a welcoming place to meet and chat.
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the main building (except assistance dogs), however, dogs are allowed within our accommodation and outside on our new decking area.
